Steve and I were lifelong friends and there was always good times being around him, with his quick and easy laugh. Followed him and his bands for many years after high school when they played at Bill Martini's Nightclub and the Balboa Bay Club. Cheers to the times I can't remember with a friend i'll never forget..

Steve was a real adventurer. These are are photos from a 6 week trip Steve and I made in 1970 to Isla de Mujeres  near what today is Cancun. Art France and Marc Davis journeyed with us until Oaxaca. We ate what we caught; no hotels or restaurants, only a hammock hung between 2 posts. We had to take horses across a long expanse of Southern Mexico. Steve could at times, sure press the envelope, as far as what explorations (and trouble) we’d get into. But that was Steve; he was a friend and I shall miss him.

Now there are no more such adventures or places to hear him play. I can recall such times, now when I am thinking young and growing old. Thinking of how the ways things were so alive with enchantment in those days. Sometimes I’d rather see my world like it used to be. It was a time we lived our days, without counting the years.
