I initially met Connie through her Davis boyfriend, Larry Irwin who happens to be also memorialized on this website. She was crazy about him and consequently shattered by his moving on to other romantic adventures in high school. Connie spent the summer between 8th and high school with Larry and I. Larry had a hard time keeping his hands off of her because she was a true freckle faced dark eyed beauty with a tremendous and boisterous laugh and cackle. She had one of the best staged scarey-crazy lady looks and loved to give the boys hugs with her full breasts and always looked to see if Larry was looking. Connie was infuriated that she could not make him jealous and I was the happy recipient of her many mock advances. I was thankful that Larry wasn't the jealous type and would laugh because she would just carry on more. Early lessons in innocent love as I saw her as such a vamp and attractive tease. She was a very sweet and lovely girl and her death brought me a double tragedy to Larry's.

I remember the summer when Connie went to visit someone in the south and came back with a southern accent. Haha...she was a bit of a diva type. Pam Birkbeck, Laurie Ahlman, Connie Hackbarth, and I used to hang with her at times. She was fun, but a bit boy crazy.

You know Connie Day wasn't normal, she was abnormaly cool. To this day I think of her and the times we had sharing our first apartment and her doing all the "wild" stuff she did like meditating and having a "biker boyfriend", well it seemed wild at the time.  We had amazing adventures exploring Baja. Having a bi-plane land right on the sand while we were sunbathing in the middle of no where and being taken for rides. We had a polaroid picture of this but of course she had it so i don't have the proof. One of the best stories of my youth and no proof. Connie was kinda like a unicorn, some magical creature that you could only catch out of the corner of your eye. She had the softest spirit and was one of  the most mystical and joyous people i've ever known. She was a dear friend and for some cosmic miracle a mentor.  I still miss you girl and i'm glad there are others who keep you in mind.
